SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The scholarship program is available for the 2013/2014 academic year. The application period starts on April 15, 2013 and closes on June 30, 2013. The applicant must submit a completed application and a personal essay to the following address:

Supporting documents will be required prior to awarding the scholarships, but must not be submitted with the application. Payments will be made directly to the academic institution.

The following scholarships are available to individuals of Bolivian nationality or descent:
  • The Sylvia Muriel Scholarship - $500.
  • The Pacifico De La Zerda Caero Scholarship - $500.
The applicant must meet the requirements below:

1. Must be of Bolivian nationality or descent.
2. The applicant, or the dependent applicant's parent or legal guardian, must reside in RI.
3. Must demonstrate involvement in the community.
4. Must be able to produce proof of enrollment.
5. There are no age limitations.

The following scholarship is available to individuals of any nationality or descent:
  • The Luis Rodriguez Scholarship - $500.
The applicant must meet the requirements below:

1. Must be between 16 and 20 years of age.
2. Must be going into first year of college.
3. The applicant, or the dependent applicant's parent or legal guardian, must reside in RI.
4. Must demonstrate involvement in the community.
5. Must be able to produce proof of enrollment.

Below is a partial list of acceptable supporting documents that may be submitted upon request:

Bolivian Nationality

  • Passport of Bolivia
  • Identification Card of Bolivia (Cedula de Identidad)
  • Voting Certificate of Bolivia (Certificado de Sufragio)
  • Birth Certificate of Bolivia
Bolivian Descent

  • Birth Certificate (applicant's) AND any of the documents listed above for the parent.
Rhode Island Residence

  • A recent utility statement under the applicant's name or the dependent applicant's parent's name.
